The Intake-to-Demand Playbook: 7 Steps to a Settlement-Ready Draft

·

Turn your intake into a predictable pipeline. This 7-step playbook shows how PI firms use Legal Power AI to go from first call to a polished, settlement-focused demand.

1) Intake Essentials (Day 0–2)

  • Capture incident facts (date, location, mechanism), policy info, and known providers.
  • Start a running list of missing records and anticipated liens.

2) Records Request & Naming (Day 2–10)

  • Request complete EMRs, imaging, PT notes, op reports, and itemized bills.
  • Use a naming convention: YYYY-MM-DD_Provider_DocumentType.pdf.

3) Upload to Legal Power AI

  • Drag-and-drop PDFs and scans (no arbitrary page caps).
  • Add a client background paragraph (work, family, hobbies, limitations).

4) Auto-Chronology Review

  • Scan the timeline for gaps in care, conflicting dates, or duplicate bills.
  • Request any missing items before you finalize the demand.

5) Draft Generation (~20 Minutes)

  • Get a structured letter with liability, injuries, specials, non-economic damages, and demand amount placeholders.

6) Attorney Polish

  • Refine causation, clarify aggravation vs. new injury, calibrate tone, and finalize the ask and deadline.
  • Regenerate once if you want a cleaner reflow of key sections.

7) Export & Send

  • Export to DOCX/PDF for your DMS. Log the send date and follow-up cadence (see Post D below).

Playbook Tips

  • Create a “Ready to Demand” checklist in your case management system.
  • Standardize paragraph snippets for venue, policy language, and comparative negligence.
